This project was presented as a challenge to design a one piece iPhone holder for the Toyota Prius. What we present below is the design process, regardless of the project scale. Beside the basic design instructions and a few common sense ideas, this is an exercise in optimizing the use of the holder, considering that users don’t have the same reach we designed the base contour to fit in multiple locations, we also considered the left hand right hand drive markets, safety, function, ease of manufacturing, esthetics, competing products.
